Theta Zeta Chapter
University of California

Colorful coat of arms with lion, keys, stars, hearts, and Greek text on a shield.

The Theta Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE), chartered on December 8, 1876, was the fourth fraternity at the University of California and DKE’s first chapter on the West Coast. Joining DKE connects you to a large, accomplished alumni network, and to chances to grow as a leader and scholar. Its core values set a strong foundation for success in school and in your career.

Located closer to campus than any other chapter house, the fraternity offers stunning views of the San Francisco skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge. With a history spanning nearly 150 years, Delta Kappa Epsilon remains a significant part of UC Berkeley’s Greek system and active on campuses across the country.

  • A gentleman is someone that puts the well-being of others before his own. He puts forth the resources and support needed for his peers to grow, and that’s exactly the behavior that the brothers of Theta Zeta uphold.

We hold various events throughout the year to help out in the community, such as Petting Zoo Fundraiser, Hurricane Awareness social events, and more. Check out the “Events” column for more information regarding upcoming/past events and activities.

  • As the objects of DKE state, intellectual excellence to the highest possible extent is encouraged. Our brothers sport high grade point averages across all fields; be it engineering, architecture, the business realm, etc.

Theta Zeta also has a great history of involvement in on-campus career-focused groups, with current members in organizations such as Berkeley Business Society, AI Entrepreneurs @ Berkeley, SBC Strategy Consulting, Berkeley Neurotech, and more.

  • At Theta Zeta, we don’t just build friendships; we build bonds that last well beyond our years on campus. That camaraderie is what makes us more than an organization. We’re a family that pushes each other to do our best while keeping things fun.
