Payment & Refund Policy
This policy covers every payment made through thetazeta-dke.com, including donations, annual dues, and event reservations such as the 150th Anniversary Banquet. It is part of our Terms of Use. Please read it before you pay.
All payments are final. Donations, dues, and event reservations made through the Site are non-refundable, except in the limited cases listed below.
Donations and dues
Gifts to the Association and annual dues are final once processed. They support chapter operations, house improvements, scholarships, and alumni programs. If you make an error, such as entering the wrong amount, paying twice, or selecting a recurring gift when you meant a one-time gift, email alumni@thetazeta-dke.com within 14 days of the charge and we will correct it.
Recurring gifts. If you set up an annual gift, it renews automatically each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time by emailing us; cancellation stops future charges but does not refund past ones.
Tax notice. The Theta Zeta Alumni Association is not a 501(c)(3) charity. Contributions and dues paid to the Association are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Consult your tax advisor about your own situation.
Event reservations
A paid reservation (for example, a $200 seat at the 150th Anniversary Banquet) holds your place and lets us commit to the venue's head count. Reservations are non-refundable, including if you are unable to attend, arrive late, or leave early.
Transfers. If you cannot attend, you may transfer your seat to another brother or guest. Email us the name of the person taking your seat at least 48 hours before the event. Transfers are handled between you and the person taking your place; the Association does not process the payment between you.
Sold-out events and waitlists. Joining a waitlist does not charge you. If a seat becomes available and you accept it, payment confirms the seat and this policy applies.
If we cancel or change an event
If the Association cancels a paid event and does not reschedule it, we will refund your reservation payment in full to the original payment method. If the event is rescheduled, your reservation carries over to the new date; if you cannot make the new date, tell us within 14 days of the announcement and we will refund you. Changes to an event's details (such as menu, program, or start time) are not grounds for a refund.
Errors and unauthorized charges
If you see a charge you did not authorize, or a duplicate or incorrect charge, contact us at alumni@thetazeta-dke.com within 14 days and we will investigate and, where appropriate, refund the amount. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank so we can resolve it quickly.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through our payment processor, Squarespace Payments, typically within 5 to 10 business days. Payment processing fees are absorbed by the Association and are not deducted from your refund.
